|Dear PC Party Member,
The last eighteen months have been very active – locally, provincially, and on the national political level. Many of you have been actively involved at these levels. Thank you for your participation and support.
Thank you Christine Elliott
As you know, after many years of dedicated service to our party and to our province, Christine Elliott, our Whitby-Oshawa Member of Provincial Parliament resigned her seat. Christine had earned the respect of not only this Association and our members, but from all of the constituents of Whitby-Oshawa and from people across this province. We’d like to thank Christine Elliott for all she has contributed and wish her every success in her endeavours moving forward.
Our riding association is now preparing for a by-election that will be called by the Premier any time before the end of February, 2016. Planning and candidate nomination screening is already underway for the nomination meeting which we expect will take place shortly. We’ll make sure all our members are notified of key dates related to the nomination, so please stay tuned.
In the meantime, if you’d like to vote at the upcoming nomination meeting, please make sure you have a current membership with the Ontario PC Party. Only members that live in the Whitby-Oshawa riding, and whose membership is current will be eligible to vote.
Congratulations to Patrick Brown
In May our Ontario PC Party elected a new leader – Patrick Brown. Patrick brings with him a strong work ethic and a great deal of energy, and we’re excited to welcome him as our new leader. In September Patrick gained a seat in the Ontario Legislature with a convincing victory in the Simcoe-North by-election, replacing retiring MPP Garfield Dunlop.Patrick Brown is committed to re-energizing the Ontario PC Party. To this end he has extended considerable support to local riding associations to strengthen their membership, promote their activities and encourage community outreach.
Your Whitby-Oshawa riding association is excited to be part of this process, and we’re committed to working hard to ensure Whitby-Oshawa elects a PC Party MPP to play a vital role in successfully electing Patrick Brown to lead the Ontario government in 2018.
